Hosting a UK website on an American server?
I have a .co.uk and a .com website. I host both these site in America. Someone has advised me that if you are in the UK and search Google it will return all websites hosted in the UK before it lists all other UK sites hosted in other countries.
Does anyone know whether this is true and if it is whether there are any ways to get round this please?

Website Hosting Regulatory Council in the UK?
I am having problems with my current UK website host. For around a year now, they haven’t been responding to any form of contact from me, and have now suspended my domain, and locked it to their own name, so it wont expire until 2009. My question is, is there any form of regulatory council that regulate website hosting in the uk?
